What are dental crowns?
If one of your teeth has lost a significant amount of tooth structure, our dentists may suggest a dental crown. Dental crowns are tooth-shaped caps or covers that are used to encase damaged teeth up to the gum line. Dr. Romeo and Dr. Cardenas use dental crowns for a variety of reasons, such as:
- Repairing moderate to severe tooth decay or damage
- Preventing a weak tooth from breaking
- Holding a broken tooth together
- Anchoring a dental bridge
- Completing a dental implant
- Enhancing your smile’s beauty
Dental crowns are designed to restore the size, shape, function, and appearance of your teeth that otherwise might be lost.
How are dental crowns made?
We have two options available at our office for making your dental crown in Macclenny, Florida. If you qualify, we utilize a CEREC® machine that allows us to design, create, and apply your dental crown in a single visit. For all other patients, you will simply require an extra appointment as your dental crown is created in a dental laboratory. Each crown we make at our dental office is custom made based on exact specifications. We work hard to ensure each dental crown fits properly and looks beautiful. If you are interested in learning more about the process to make dental crowns and how they can benefit your smile, then we invite you to contact our dental office today.
