What are dental implants?
Many of our patients have lost a tooth or are facing tooth loss in the imminent future. We understand the impact this can have on your self-esteem and your ability to live a fully functional life. To help you eat, speak, and smile with more confident and ease, our dentists are proud to offer dental implants in Macclenny, Florida. Dental implants are a superior method of replacing missing teeth. A surgical process, dental implants are devised to replace your whole tooth. This includes the tooth root below the surface and the dental crown above the gum line.
How are dental implants placed?
To complete dental implants, Dr. Romeo and Dr. Cardenas will:
- Surgically place the dental implant, a small metal post, into your jaw as your new tooth root
- Allow your gums and jaw to heal as the dental implant fuses to your bone tissue
- Place an abutment onto the dental implant, designed to hold your new tooth
- Complete your new smile by permanently attaching a new tooth, usually a crown, bridge, or denture
The process to complete dental implants generally takes between three to six months, and we are here to guide you each step of the way. If you are interested in restoring your smile with dental implants, please give our office a call. We would love to schedule a time for you to come and see us.
